Detail: This modern steamer was overwhelmed and foundered in the "Big Storm" of 1913. Probably capsized in the greatest Great Lakes storm on record. She was brand-new and was the largest Canadian laker when lost. Master: Capt. W. H. Wright(d). Later speculation was that her wheat cargo made her ride too high for the conditions - she was designed and built for the ore trade.(Wreckage reported found in late 1980's.)Image from my collection
