Overwhelmed by "Big Storm" of 1913 after battling it out for 3 days. Sank quickly after apparently springing a leak. Master: Capt. Hugh H. William(d). Located with difficulty and recovered by Reid Towing in summer, 1915. Repaired & converted to a tender at Detroit. Popularly known as the "Buffalo" because that was painted on her flank in large letters, indicating her station. |
